First Transmitted: January 5, 1983

While raising a calf for the forthcoming farm show, the McFadden's take in and care for a pregnant young Venezuelan woman who is discovered on their ranch, half-starved, eating the cattle feed.

Angelina is grateful for the hospitality extended to her by the family but is forced to leave when she overhears the family discussing downstairs the possibility of them getting into trouble with the law for hiding an illegal worker.

After foiling a kidnap attempt, the McFadden's convince Angelina to return to their ranch. She cooks up a large batch of her special chilli for all the family. Before tucking in, she gives thanks for their meal in her native tongue. "I wanna learn to speak Spanish too" says Guthrie. Back in 1982, the audience would have little idea that River had spoken Spanish fluently for years.

After the meal, which is played out to great comedy effect when the McFadden's discover that the chilli is a little hotter than they are used to, Guthrie escorts Angelina to the barn outside to show her their prize calf. Suddenly two men burst in, once again intent on kidnapping Angelina. Guthrie, armed with a pitchfork tries to save her but is thrown violently against the wall of the barn and is knocked unconscious.
