Hanna then offers her assistance to the second-youngest of the McFadden clan, Ford, when she encourages him to ask the young assistant at the local feed store, Cleo, to be his date for the forthcoming dance. This becomes a great cause of concern for Hanna's husband, Adam, who thinks she's pushing Ford too hard and trying to change the family. Their discussion on the subject quickly grows into a heated argument, which leads to Adam having to sleep downstairs that night. "How come you're sleeping on the floor?" asks Guthrie who normally sleeps downstairs anyway. "Go to bed!" mutters Adam. "I am in bed!" protests Guthrie who then has to try to keep a straight face when Brian replies "I bet old Adam wishes he were!" "Sweet dreams!" wishes Guthrie, between giggles, just before Adam's pillow comes crashing into his head.
