|River had an internal magical quality,|
a tenderness mixed with vulnerability,
very similar to James Dean.
You wanted to be his friend because he seemed
so very alone, unhealed, and yet graced with
a wisdom and compassion far beyond his years.
When he died (and I heard of it while in Katmandu)
I felt we had lost our only young actor
of any real hope.
