Rio's Attic: Celebrating the Life and Times of a Dearly Missed River Phoenix

July 27, 1999

Dear Rio's Attic,

My name is Melissa and I'm from Canada and I recently got hooked up to the Internet. One of the things that I wanted to look up was information on one of my very favorite actors, River Phoenix. I didn't know a lot about him but I thought I may as well get started. I went to a search engine and stumbled upon your page and it almost blew me right out of my seat. I have never seen any page that is so well put together and so well researched. I did have Internet access before so I'm well up to date with the whole Internet experience.

I'm only 16 years old but I have known about River for a long time. I was only 9 or 10 when he died and I was pretty sad but I didn't know the full extent of what was happening, all I knew was that he wasn't going to be around anymore and that I was sad.

Most of the information on your page I had never read before and I was kind of surprised and saddened all at the same time, I wasn't sure if I was shocked or if I should cry. He was a great man and I really wish that he was still around even if he did go and work with his dad, I know that I wouldn't feel this pain that I carry around everytime I hear his name.

I also would like to thank you for the information about books that you can buy that are about him. A long time ago I found a book on him that I really wanted to buy but when I finally had enough cash it wasn't there anymore. Now, I can't find them anywhere. But I will keep looking or I might get them over the Internet.

I congratulate you on the best site that is around and I'm terribly happy that you decided to dedicate your time to such a wonderful person.

Warm regards,

Melissa Furino
