Dear Rio's Attic,

Let me try, in words to let you know what your site means to me.

I first saw River Phoenix in 1986, in the Explorers.  I was 11 years old.  I was intrigued the instant I saw his name. I became a vegetarian when I was 14. I was 19 and studying at university, when he died. (I left shortly after to be with my fiance.  I am now married and we have a 3 year old son, Bryn).

You only need to ask my friends and they will tell you what a positive influence he has had on my life. I am 24 and I am still a vegetarian - I don't wear leather and I don't use products which I know are tested on animals.

I want the cynical people of this world to know that River Phoenix did make a difference and that regardless of me never meeting him, I thought he was a special person, and I miss him.
