Rio's Attic: Celebrating the Life and Times of a Dearly Missed River Phoenix

"Forever Love For River Phoenix"

By Erin Cleary,
Aged 13
Philadelphia, USA

You know we really miss you,
As you already know.
It was just the beginning,
We hated to see you go.

When the news was out it broke the hearts of many of us all,
With such a person everyone loved we hated to see you fall.
In that hour cries broke out of misery and pain,
Who knew that on the next gravestone would be engraved your name?

No more happiness, no more light,
That sinking feeling is to hard to fight.
All that is left is pain and sorrow,
What will become of us tomorrow?

Everyone came to the viewing ground,
But all of the crying drowned out the sound.
When you died people cried, they could not see ahead,
Only just for you a million tears were shed.

May God take your soul and set it free to fly,
And may you live peacefully in the kingdom in the sky.

In loving memory of River Phoenix,
and also Danny Gilcrest who also died from a drug overdose.
