Rio's Attic: Celebrating the Life and Times of a Dearly Missed River Phoenix

"Eternal River"

By Christine Anderson,
Minnesota, USA

I look at the world we have,
The place it is today.
I wonder what you would be doing,
And what you might have changed.
I think of all the lives you've touched,
Including the one I call my own.
And deep inside my heart I know,
That now you're truly home.
But for those of us still here,
You must know that we love you,
And that our memories are clear.

Stand By Me

Eternal River
You will forever flow,
In our hearts
And through our souls.
Eternal River
You shall remain,
Forever sacred
As a never-dying flame.

Part of me knows that as long
As I believe in love, in life,
You will be there, always close
Always standing by.
Yet there's a part of me that can't
Understand or realize,
Why I'll never see your smile, hear your laugh,
Or look into your bright blue eyes.
All of the people on this Earth,
Will remember forever,
Your life, your death, your birth.

Eternal River
You will forever flow,
In our hearts
And through our souls.
Eternal River
You shall remain,
Forever sacred
As a never-dying flame.

Running on Empty

You've touched so many people,
Changed so many things.
I hope that you are happy and free,
And still see the joy that you bring.
No matter where you are now,
Hear me as I sing.

Eternal River
You will forever flow,
In our hearts
And through our souls.
Eternal River
You shall remain,
Forever sacred
As a never-dying flame.

Eternal River
You will forever flow,
In my heart
And through my soul.
Eternal River
You shall remain,
Forever sacred
My never-dying flame.
