After a long, drawn out commercial for other Columbia TriStar home video products, this DVD launches straight into Stand By Me. This is hardly surprising as the main menu offers little in the way of extra items or functionality beyond changing the sound track into either French or Spanish versions or displaying sub-titles in either Spanish or Korean.

The package includes a small printed menu sheet inside the box which lists the chapter names that the movie has been divided into. The list is complete with a very pensive looking Chris Chambers sat alongside.

This particular product has since been withdrawn following the release of the Stand By Me: Special Edition DVD but is still worth tracking down as the audio track encoded onto this disc is of a higher quality than the Special Edition release.
