The 1990 ensemble comedy movie I Love You To Death makes its first appearance on this very much no-frills, but nonetheless welcome, DVD.
|
Only the movie itself is present on the disk, in two different picture sizes to suit the different television screens on which it will be viewed. A chapter selection card is included inside the package which features photographs of all the stars taken at the time of the movie, including a couple of photographs of River as Devo Nod as well as a large photograph of Joey Boca on the front wearing his pyjamas that for no readily apparent reason have been electronically re-colored from cream to blue.
That's all there is though and the disk is devoid of any other extra material. There are no production notes or cast biographies, surely something of an injustice to the highly-rated ensemble cast that brings the movie to life. Nor is there an audio commentary track, something that a director of the stature of Lawrence Kasdan would undoubtedly make worthwhile listening to.
In fact, the whole disk leaves one very much with the impression that some sort of "special edition" may very well follow. Given the movie's success on its initial release, let's hope we don't have to wait to long for it.
